PowerHouse has topped out its 900,000 sq. m. Irving data center campus in Dallas, Texas as it announced over the weekend. They announced the topping out of the first building at their Irving campus. “Reaching this point is the result of strong coordination across teams on-site. Thank you to Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC for leading construction and helping drive the project forward,” the company said on LinkedIn.
“With the structure now complete, work continues on interior systems, infrastructure, and the next phases of development across the campus.” The project has moved in a steady pace since its announcement in 2024. It is located at 111 Customer Way in Dallas County. Moreover, it is developed in partnership with Harrison Street Asset Management. The campus will support up to 201MW of utility power across three two-story buildings. It also covers an area of approximately 900,000 sq. ft. Another data center project taking shape in Texas is the Anthropic data center campus which has received financial backing from Google.
Outlook on the Irving Data Center Campus by PowerHouse
The Irving data center campus by PowerHouse sits on territory previously owned by a former distribution warehouse according to online listings. The warehouse was operated by the clothing firm Neiman Marcus. Sat on 50 acres, real estate firm Provident acquired the 491,310 sq ft (45,600 sqm) facility from the retailer in 2021. At the time, the company said it planned to expand the facility to 750,000 sq. ft.
Moreover, it aimed to re-tenant the building upon Neiman’s lease expiration in 2022. PowerHouse was founded by American Real Estate Partners (AREP) in 2022, with Harrison Street partnering on several projects. The firm has various data center projects across the U.S. other than in Texas.
These include Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. Furthermore, the company’s pipeline reportedly totals more than 6GW of capacity. Once complete, the Irving data center campus adds up to this tally, solidifying PowerHouse’s role in the data center market.
