Origis Energy has fully commissioned and launched operations at its 500 MWdc Swift Air Solar complex in West Texas, completing the final phase of the three-project portfolio delivered in late 2025 and now supplying dedicated renewable power to Occidental’s regional operations, including its STRATOS Direct Air Capture facility.

Project Overview

Swift Air portfolio consists of three solar facilities totaling 500 MWdc built in phases across Ector County and the wider West Texas region.

The development also represents more than $650 million in infrastructure investment and was fully planned, developed, and constructed by Origis Energy.

The  500 MWdc Swift Air Solar complex in West Texas will supply renewable electricity to support industrial operations in the Permian Basin, particularly Occidental’s facilities and the STRATOS DAC project.

Renewable Generation for Industrial Decarbonization

Swift Air complex is part of a growing trend of built renewable generation tied directly to industrial decarbonization infrastructure rather than grid sales like the Cold Creek Solar+Storage project in central Texas set add 430 MW to ERCOT. By pairing utility-scale solar with carbon-removal infrastructure, the project also demonstrates how renewables are being used not only for grid supply but as dedicated energy sources for emerging climate technology projects.

Additionally, the integration with STRATOS is also significant because the facility is designed to remove large quantities of CO2 annually. Financing for Swift Air Solar Project

The project was supported by a $415 million financing package covering construction, term debt, and tax equity.

• $290 million debt arranged by Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking. Natixis served as coordinating lead arranger, hedging bank, LC issuer, green-loan coordinator, and administrative agent.
• $125 million tax equity provided by Advantage Capital.
• Additional financing for phases 2 and 3 was jointly led by Natixis CIB and Santander.
