Dubai itself is already a city of giants and it already has the world’s largest building. It is now preparing to host Burj Azizi the  second tallest building in the world.

The Burj Azizi was launched in January of this year, however, its real height was not announced because its developer was still waiting for the consent from the higher authorities of Dubai including the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) which is involved in the planning of the “supertall” structures. But on Wednesday, Azizi Developments, a real estate company in the Middle Eastern country, revealed that its building will be able to overshadow most of the listed buildings at 725 meters (2,379 feet). “Since the beginning, they designed two versions — one for the height initially granted at 526 meters, and the other for the now allowed 725 meters,” Azizi Developments’ founder and chairman Mirwais Azizi said in a written interview with CNN.

The developer maintained its ‘bids favor for both outcomes’ when it embarked on preparatory exercises early this year. However, with the project getting the nod for the building’s more elaborate plan, Azizi noted that more work has been done to foundations and piling. The Burj Khalifa which is a 131 story tower will have residential spaces for sales, an all-suite luxury seven-star hotel, and a seven-level “ vertical” shopping center.

Key features

Situated in Sheikh Zayed Road in the World Trade Center area, Burj Azizi will still be around 340 feet shorter than Burj Khalifa which is about 2. 72 kilometers away at the moment. But it will comfortably usurp local buildings for the second-tallest structure in the city and go a long way to surpassing the current structure – Marina 101 (432 meters). Once complete, it will also outdo the second tallest building in the world today, the Merdeka 118 in Malaysia standing at 2,227 feet.

The Tower, therefore, expected to break several records such as the world’s highest hotel lobby at level 11, the world’s highest nightclub on level 126, and the world’s highest observation deck which will be on level 130 as stated by Azizi Developments. The developer also added that the building will be having the record for having the tallest restaurant in Dubai, which in fact the restaurant in the 122nd floor and the restaurant will be higher than the Burj Khalifa 122nd floor restaurant At. mosphere The hotel room on the 118th floor of the building will also be the highest hotel room in the city of Dubai.

Construction cost

Azizi said the investment in the project has already exceeded 6 billion dirham ($1. 6 billion).

“My vision for Burj Azizi is to build one that will be remembered, a symbol of Dubai as a residential and tourist hub and a feat in architectural design,” said Azizi in the release.
