Flow Power has signed offtake agreement with Octopus Australia for the Blind Creek solar farm and battery storage project in New South Wales (NSW). The Blind Creek power offtake deal follows the project’s recent financial close and ongoing construction in Bungendore, NSW. It also positions Flow Power as a key long-term partner in delivering firm, clean electricity to homes and businesses in one of the world’s longest interconnected power systems, the National Electricity Market (NEM).
Blind Creek Solar Farm and Battery Storage Project in New South Wales (NSW)
Project Overview
Blind Creek solar-storage project combines large-scale renewable generation with flexible energy storage to help stabilize Australia’s power system. Designed as a 300 MW solar farm paired with a 243 MW/486 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), it represents a significant innovation in hybrid project design through its use of DC-coupled configuration and agrisolar approach. This type of connection configuration enhances efficiency by directing solar output straight into storage with fewer conversion losses. Blind Creek will also have a connection to the existing Transgrid Services transmission network (TL6) via a cut-in to the existing 330 kV line which runs from Canberra to Sydney.
Construction Timeline for Blind Creek Solar Farm and Battery Storage Project
The project’s construction is officially underway and expected to be fully operational by 2028. Its ground breaking was also supported by multiple financing partners, including institutional investors and superannuation funds, after reaching financial close in late 2025.

Power Offtake Deals with Flow Power
For Flow Power, securing an anchor offtake deal with Blind Creek aligns with its broader strategy of linking long-term renewable supply contracts to firmed energy offerings for retail and commercial customers. This extends beyond simple generation purchasing to integrated solar-plus-storage portfolios that can deliver predictable output patterns and help counter volatility in energy markets. This reverberates across the region as also seen with offtake agreements like Stanwell Corporation’s 15-year power deal from Bulli Creek solar-storage project aimed at securing up to 550 MW of generated renewable energy.
Project Financing for Blind Creek Solar Farm and Battery Storage Project
Blind Creek project is a A$900 million (approx. US$640 million) investment, backed both international capital and domestic funding sources – a signal for healthy investor confidence in Australia’s clean energy transition. Financial close was achieved in November 2025, enabling construction to kick off and marking a pivotal milestone for hybrid solar-storage infrastructure.
Capital backing was also from a consortium including superannuation funds including Hostplus, Rest, the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC), Westpac Private Bank, and other investors.
The offtake agreement between Octopus Australia and Flow Power from the solar-storage hybrid project also secures its future energy supply and cash flow.
