Aggreko has published a new eGuide to The Challenges of Delivering Construction Site Power, which explores six factors for simplifying power rental and increasing efficiency of generation.
The free eGuide from the rental power and temperature control specialist addresses key challenges facing construction specifiers, such as how to meet variable power demands, reduce noise and emissions, gain environmental compliance, manage generator security, and overcome space and access constraints.
“With new environmental legislation and the complexities of working on sites in densely populated residential locations, towns and city centres, specifying site power is not straightforward,” said Ben Vincent, Aggreko’s Construction National Accounts Manager for Northern Europe. “This guide details the many factors that should be considered to achieve a compliant, efficient and fail-safe power supply, so that contractors can get on with delivering the project, without any distractions or interruptions.”
Scalable ‘load-on-demand’ fuel-saving power options are explained, along with techniques for overcoming space constraints on small footprint urban sites. The guide also introduces newer green technologies, such as silent hybrid power units, which minimise fuel consumption; and particulate filtration units, which dramatically reduce emissions from diesel generators. The use of gas and biodiesel generators is also explored, along with high voltage distribution for larger sites.
“Getting your on-site power generation strategy wrong can be very costly should there be interruptions in supply, a failure to comply with noise or emissions regulations, or fuel inefficiencies,” said Ben Vincent. “Our eGuide details the six steps to getting rental power right first time.”
