As the world’s leading felt liner manufacturer, Applied Felts has globally provided materials to reline over 850 million linear feet of pipe using the cured-in-place pipeline (CIPP) rehabilitation process. Their vertically integrated offering of classic felt liners include flame-bonded, or sewn-seamed, highly durable PU and PP coated liners for more extreme environmental and installation requirements. Their fiberglass-reinforced liners provide the strongest, most robust liner on the market today for gravity sewer, pressure pipe and potable water applications.
From the selection of the finest fibers, coatings and fiberglass reinforcements to the finished product, every Applied Felts liner is custom designed to meet exact specifications in order to ensure seamless integration into the customer’s specific CIPP process. They work with CIPP installers around the world, so they understand the unique project requirements and cultural, geographic and installation challenges faced by their customer base. Applied Felt’s technical support team works with customers in the lab, throughout the manufacturing process and on the jobsite to ensure every Applied Felts CIPP product stands the test of time.
Hybrid liners from Applied Felts combine fiberglass reinforcement with traditional felt liner material to provide strong, robust liners. These hybrid liners perform and install in the same manner as nonreinforced liners with the benefit of reduced thickness, delivering significant resin savings and ensuring a close fit and faster install. AquaCure RP, PS and PW fiberglass-reinforced liners provide superior physical and mechanical properties that meet required testing standards. Additionally, traditional felt liners come in a variety of coating options for polyurethane, polypropylene or polyethylene.
AquaCure PS® liners are custom designed for pressure sewer and non-potable water applications that must withstand higher internal pressures and deliver the best possible performance. While they are designed specifically for municipal sewer applications such as force mains, the product can also be used for industrial purposes. The fibreglass reinforcement provides static, self-supporting properties and can be engineered to have the pressure resistance of a stand-alone AWWA Class IV Pipe. For potable water, AquaCure PW® is Applied Felts’ solution to incorporate quality liners with NSF-certified systems.
Talking about projects and customer relationship Steve Butterworth, International Business Development Manager states that they have to be diligent in the assessment of each unique CIPP project, so the firm works with their customers to understand variables such as internal operating and testing pressure requirements, resin selection, appropriate layers of glass reinforcement. Knowledge and history of fibre production has resulted in Applied Felts’ position as a leader in CIPP felt liner production. “In Africa we have supplied product for our customer for some large projects. Furthermore, we have direct clients only, the biggest being based in Capetown. This company also has an office in Johannesburg and also works in neighboring Countries at times” he adds.
The company is strategic in the development of relationships to deliver the best products and ongoing support to ensure repeatable business. They work with customers all over the globe. Understanding emerging markets, cultural differences, the processes involved in winning work, and knowing a customer’s intentions are an important part of the mix.
Offering complete end-to-end custom manufacturing capabilities and products that are ISO-9001 certified, Applied Felts has more than four decades of expertise in the CIPP industry and currently manufactures lining materials in the United Kingdom where their headoffice is based with branches in Martinsville Virginia, and India.
Applied Felts quickly acquired majority market share for CIPP gravity sewer line rehabilitation around the world. Today, through its unparalleled commitment to understanding unique field application requirements and its unmatched exploration and break-through innovations to meet those needs.
