The Brumby submersible pumps were developed in Australia around 7 years ago and have been marketed mainly on-line. The pumps are now operating successfully around the globe and the company aims at making them available to people worldwide.Their primary focus is currently on the USA, which is a huge market with a number of unique niches that the Brumby Pump products will fit perfectly. The other region currently being targeted is southern Africa. Discussions are underway to have products manufactured and distributed under license in these regions. The pumps are currently sold directly.

The pumps work on the age old airlift principle. They are refined for optimum performance and easy installation. They are constructed entirely of specially selected, tough non-metallic, non-corroding materials.

With brumby pumps there are no troublesome electrics down the hole and no level instruments are required.  There is no need for power at the pump site. The pumps are air operated making them very versatile as a compressor can be driven by just about any source, such as electricity, petrol (gas), diesel, wind, the sun or manual powered compressor. They are also light, versatile, easy to install, can handle salt, iron and solids. Low pressure compressed air can be supplied from a great distance through cheap piping, saving on costly installation of power cables. These unique features make them suitable to Africa’s environment.

They can be re-located to different sites by simply pulling it out by hand and moving it to a different location. No support cables are required since they are light and can just hang on the end of the delivery pipe – usually poly pipe, which is cheap and available in great rolled up lengths.Brumby pumps are ideal for low yielding bores and wells but can deliver up to over 8000L/hr in some cases.

Tom Kress, advices potential buyer, that, if one needs a submersible pump, they should definitely go for the brumby pumps, the world’s simplest and easy to install pumps.

Kress also commented on the emerging trends regarding their products, that, versatility and non-reliance on electricity is the renewable energy.
