Conserval Engineering Inc has been delivering custom engineered renewable energy solutions for over 30 years. They are the company that invented and commercialized solar air heating (branded as “SolarWall”) around the world. This technology was praised by the U.S. Department of Energy as being in the “top two percent of energy related inventions”.
Conserval manufactures and designs SolarWall® systems for a wide variety of applications and clients around the globe. To date, Conserval has supplied and designed hundreds of thousands of square meters of SolarWall systems in over 36 countries on 6-continents. This means that SolarWall systems are reducing tens of thousands of tons of CO2 each and every year.
Conserval’s has unparalleled experience in solar air heating stems from a long history of product development, system design and manufacturing of their technology. This has allowed the company to perfect an energy solution that is tailored to the client’s requirements with a rapid fast solar payback. This is verified by extensive field usage, monitoring reports, and an independent feasibility analysis tool called RETScreen.
SolarWall® is a site built, engineer-to-order solar air heating technology. In cold climates it is used for ventilation pre-heating. In warm climates it is used for process heat air – generally crop drying. In fact, they have two SolarWall® systems installed in large multinational tea producer companies. The systems are used to heat air as part of the tea withering process. SolarWall systems can produce heat air up to 55°C above ambient depending upon system configuration. Furthermore, they are low cost and require no maintenance.
Duncan Coutts the Vice President of Worldwide Sales advices buyers that SolarWall® systems can be added to an existing building or designed for a new one. However, they do not design the drying process or equipment (except in their container drying system). They need to know the air volume and maximum temperature of your process. He further says that their products are available in South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania, they can sell directly elsewhere.
