Construction contractors in Ghana have been awarded under the theme-‘Celebrating Excellence for National Development’.
With the construction sector contributing about 12 per cent to Ghana’s GDP, organisers believe, the awards would be a major motivation for construction companies to excel and break new boundaries.
The awards would also serve as an incentive to other companies in the industry to improve on service delivery, professionalism, health and safety among others.
Speaking at the event Akin Naphtal, CEO of InstinctWave, organisers of the Ghana Construction Awards said: ‘We warmly congratulate all those honoured today, we are very proud to be the pioneer of celebrating a vital industry like construction.’
Among the big winners of the night were Berock Ventures who took home four awards. Guirez Galvao, a Brazilian construction company operating in Ghana clinched two awards with HMD-Forewin, a construction equipment supplier also taking two awards. David Walter, a local construction company founded 40 years ago, went home with two awards.
Other winners include, Artikas who won two awards while Rudan Engineering Co. Ltd, Bricklane, Empire Concrete, ADK Consortium all walked home with one award each.
According to Mr Naphtal, ‘The event provides an outstanding platform to recognise leaders in the construction industry’.
‘It is an incredible achievement to be announced as an award winner today, as the high calibre of nominees is a true reflection of the dynamic, professionalism and excellence, attributes that will drive this industry in the following years,’ he added.
The night was also another opportunity to recognise and celebrate some personalities who have positively impacted the industry with leadership, innovation and excellence.
Tagged Special Recognition Awards, Courage Dogbegah, CEO of Berock Ventures was recognised as Construction CEO of the Year while Mono Sethi, of Sethi Brothers was awarded Construction/Real Estate Entrepreneur of the Year for his outstanding project ‘Nyame Dua’.
Dr Gabriel Nani, Managing Director of Procurement and Project Management Consultancy and a lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology was named Industry Personality of the Year.
The Lifetime Achievement, given to individuals who have proven outstanding leadership, invaluable experience and demonstrated commitment to the industry saw Mr Rockson Dobgegah, Founder and Executive Chairman of Berock Ventures as its first recipient.

The Building Project of the Year- Construction of Office & Scanner Block for Gateway Services Ltd (Berock Ventures), Health & Safety Excellence Award – David Walter Ltd, Interior Hardware Distributor of the Year- H & M Timber Ltd, Excellence in Customer Service- HMD-Forewin, Residential Development Award- Premier Place I Apartments (Imperial Homes), Electrical Engineering Company of the Year- Artikas and Outstanding Development of the Year- Polo Heights (PW Ghana).
