The Demag crane division was established in South Africa in 1951, and in 1966 they built and completed their own works in Boksburg, adding a major extension in 1974.
The crane division builds two types of cranes: A standard crane, built with Demag series produced components which, up to date manufactured approximately 5200 cranes and a process crane – manufacturing special industrial, steel plant, harbour and container cranes with approximately 1200 cranes supplied up to date.
