Gioco Solutions flexible solar panels are very thin (1.5 mm) , lightweight (less than 2,5Kg /m^2) and are manufactured using photovoltaic cells with GWire Technology, an innovative cell grid technology that increases the number of inter contacts between the fingers and wires in the cell respect to a standard cell.
As a matter of fact, in a standard solar cell there are only few connections between the fingers and the busbars. This is really dangerous on a flexible panel because if a crack occurs, the power generated from this cell won’t be able to reach the busbars and therefore won’t be used.
Apart from their resistance and reliability, these cells are also pretty powerful, in fact monocrytalline cells have efficiency 20% and polycrystalline cells have efficiency 17%.
Another important feature of Gioco Solutions panels is the encapsulant: these products are made with a highly resilient techno polymer that is resistant to UV rays, therefore it won’t degrade over time and it won’t change color.
This material is also resistant to collisions, to marine environment (panels are certified IEC 61701 salty mist), and to high temperatures, preventing the risk of fires (very important on panels made of plastics).
