Sinoma International Engineering has signed a contract with Egypt worth €1.05bn to supply 6,000 tonnes of daily capacity for the equipment bureau of the Ministry of Defence and Military.

According to the agreement the company which is a subsidiary Chengdu Design & Research Institute of Building Materials Industry Co., Ltd will be able to supply, design and install their equipment at the CDI.

The project will be soon launched in Beni Sues and will include the camp construction, mining platform construction and a major mining crusher plant.

According to the agreement the period of operation is expected to last for three and half years so that the commonly can properly operate and maintain the six production lines herence the pilot study of the production will be done by the end of 2017.

Sinoma’s contract which amounted to over €1.05bn includes all the cost and the whole money will be given by the government of Egypt.

Sinoma International became the first Chinese contractor in Egypt’s engineering and construction industry after signing a contract for two 5,000 tonnes per day cement production lines in the Sinai Peninsula with the Department of Defence on 24 June 2007.
Currently Egypt remains of the largest cement producers in Africa standing at a capacity of 70 Million tonnes of clinker.

This gives it extra as the cement consumption is estimated at 55 million tonnes per year and its expected to grow as the country’s GDP is on the constant growth.
