Nora systems develops, manufactures and markets resilient rubber floors and other service-provider solutions globally under the brand name nora®. Headquartered in Weinheim, Germany, the company has been designing and manufacturing premium flooring for more than 60 years.
In 1949, the company used the nora brand name for its newly established business unit of rubber floor coverings. The initial product was noraplan® rolls, followed by the production and marketing of tiles under the product name norament® in 1967. The uni-colored round pastille became a popular classic as well, and in the 1990s, the company introduced hammered surface and granular designs to the product range. Today, the nora portfolio encompasses more than 300 colors and styles of commercial rubber flooring, stair treads and accessories, including adhesives, cold weld, cove sticks, heat welding rod, sanitary base and wall base.
Nora rubber flooring requires no finishing, waxing or sealing. All nora floor coverings have a dense, nonporous and dirt-repellant surface that eliminates the need to use unfriendly, harsh cleaning chemicals, ultimately saving maintenance teams time spent on labor and costs associated with cleaning products.
Maarten Emck, area sales manager at nora, says that Africa has a great diversity of construction conditions and climatic influences; this diversity requires a top of the line product that can withstand demanding situations not only short term but also in the long run. Nora flooring materials are suitable for many segments, from health care and education, retail to public buildings, airports to train stations, industry, oil exploration, and ship building. A wide scale of highly technical, specialty flooring ranges to answer the afore mentioned environments. He further says that their products are available across Africa.
