OPTI-Solar also designs solar off-grid applications especially for the African market. In 2013, they partnered with a local Tanzanian company to launch a pilot project with their business-in-a-box multifunction kit MSS 60 for school and commercial applications. This social business model enables more than 40 different people to use the energy from the solar panel at the same time to charge their phones, to power LED lights, and get rid of kerosene lamps.
