 Panasonic has constructed an electronic assembling plant in Nigeria to complement its manufacturing plant in India.

Managing Director Middle East and Africa, Shinichi Wakita, revealed the company’s plan to extend its manufacturing plant of its air-conditioners and TV sets to the shores of Nigeria.

The company is collaborating with an electronics and home appliances marketing/distribution company in Lagos, SIMS Nigeria Limited, as the company looks forward to the manufacturing of air-conditioners and TVs in Lagos using the new local manufacturing unit in Nigeria.
Not only Nigerians will benefit from the manufacturing unit in terms of job creation but the country’s economy will as well grow.

According to Mr. Wakita, setting up a manufacturing unit in Nigeria is the best strategy to deal with the business challenges in the African market though Africa is one of the fastest growing economies with a rising consumer class. The company has promised to work hand in hand with the Nigerian population in order to provide them with products which are locally fit in accordance with their demands.

Panasonic products have gain greater demand in Nigeria and the company’s decision to establish a manufacturing plant in Nigeria has received warm reception by the citizens and even electronic dealers in the country.
