Founded in 2003 and based in the central Hesse town of Lahnau, Rewitec develops, produces and globally markets an innovative nano-coating based on several different synthetic and mineral silicate compounds. This is used in so-called tribological systems, not least for gears, bearings, internal combustion engines, bearings.
Friction and wear cause the economies of industrial countries annual losses of around 5% of gross national product. Through rigorous implementation of the tribological knowledge that already exists it is estimated that around €5bn a year could be saved for Germany alone.
In addition to developing suitable lubricants the focus of current developments is on issues of material choice, surface coating and surface topography.
Rewitec® additives actively prevent wear and tear and increase machine productivity and energy efficiency, while at the same time helping to ensure low levels of CO2, particulate and toxic emissions. Simply add the appropriate Rewitec® product to the lubricant to treat the surfaces of the metal parts that rub together.
Microscopically small areas of damage get repaired, roughness reduced and surfaces enhanced through passivation, which leads to less resistance within motors and gearboxes. Once added to the lubricant the Rewitec® products, specifically developed for each respective purpose, provide you with protection over many hours of operation.
The concentrated active agents are generally supplied pre-mixed in neutral white oil, which is compatible with practically all standard lubricants.
PowerShot® is the product for internal combustion engines, DuraGear® is for use in industrial gearing units, G5 is for passenger car gearboxes, GR400 (grease) is designed for applications in bearings, PowerSpray is an all-purpose spray for domestic use and ChainSpray is used for two-wheelers and chain conveyors.
According to Rewitec’s marketing manager Derk Jan van der Veen their company is focusing in the African market and they have started with the distribution of the Rewitec products this year and currently focusing on the South African market.
Derk Jan also added that they are looking for agents or distributors in Africa in the Mining, Industry, Automotive, and Marine and Agricultural sectors.
