The company’s in-house team design hardware and software to TS16949 standards, allowing rapid concept to prototype development.
Volume manufacture is carried out in their modern state of the art SMT manufacturing facility complete with automatic optical inspection and in circuit testing. Their products are supplied worldwide to automobile manufacturers such as DAF Trucks, Leyland Trucks, Iveco, Aston Martin, Toyota, Subaru, Isuzu and Triumph Motorcycles.
The Scorpion Track telematics system is rapidly becoming a market leader in both Stolen Vehicle recovery and Fleet Management, the company also enjoys a growing reputation for excellence in LED technology and “Bulb Failure Monitoring” especially in the applications where LED light clusters are used. TS16949 accreditation was awarded in 2008.
Their products include; Stolen Vehicle Tracking and Fleet Management, Safety reversing products including parking sensors, Full bespoke design product service available and insurance approved vehicle security alarm and immobilizer systems for Cars, Light Commercial Vehicles, Motorcycle, Plant, Caravan and Motor homes.
In 2014 the company was awarded a contract by the Kenyan government to supply datalogger device which registers both speed history and driver behaviour. The devices were meant to comply with the country’s new legislation. They are basically looking for distributors with an established customer base and technical capability, willing to promote their products.
Joaquin Fernandez, Business Development Manager advices potential buyer that a car is probably the most expensive machine an average person would ever have and it is required to be secured. A car can be protected by several means, but from Scorpion as security experts, they recommend fitting an alarm or a tracking device in order to have peace of mind.
Fernandez also commented on the emerging trend concerning vehicle security products that, “From our experience, we see a growing trend in Telematics and connectivity. We believe that tracking devices are the future for modern vehicle’s security devices and they should be connected with Vehicle’s OBD in order to give the customer not only information about the location of the vehicle, but also information about fuel level, tires’ pressure, oil level, engine status, etc.”
The company recently signed an agreement with Varroc lighting systems to develop Scorpion’s technology in India. They were also involved in several exhibitions including, ECIMA Milan, Automechanika India, Intermoto Cologne, Automechanika Arabia Saudi and Mexico’s Auto Industry summmit.
