The REMRAD (REMote RADio) telemetry system from Sysman Public Safety Systems (Pty) Ltd operates on a dedicated frequency within the radio spectrum. It is a sophisticated, yet highly reliable two-way telemetry system designed to save lives, protect property, buildings and other installations in case of fire or medical emergencies.

REMRAD is highly flexible as it can be interfaced to all existing fire and/or emergency detection systems. Or it can operate as a standalone system. If an alarm is triggered, an alert is automatically transmitted to the appropriate monitoring centre.

REMRAD also comes with a DTU (Desktop Telecommunications Unit), which can be manually activated if required. Buttons on the DTU are clearly labelled according to the type of incident such as FIRE or AMBULANCE. A SPEECH button can also be pressed to put the person raising the alarm in two-way voice contact with the Operator of the relevant branch of the emergency service – this option is a vital and reassuring link in an emergency situation.

REMRAD communicates directly with a base station located at the emergency monitoring centre. This base station can be interfaced into Sysman’s flagship ESS call taking and dispatching system.
Sysman’s ESS system automatically knows the location of the premises, and the type of incident that is occurring. This is because the emergency services operator can use REMRAD to request confirmation and determine the extent of the emergency situation via the SPEECH option of REMRAD.

This confirmation, coupled with REMRAD’s integration into the ESS database, means that the emergency services has all the relevant information, which allows them to rapidly dispatch the appropriate emergency personnel and response vehicles to the incident.

The REMRAD integration with ESS also means that responding emergency personnel can be simultaneously provided with all the necessary incident details, including the location of the nearest fire hydrants, premises information, route map (to the incident), special risks, predetermined actions, checklist procedures etc.
The entire alarm registration and dispatching of appropriate resources by the emergency services is quickly completed thanks to the advanced design of the REMRAD system. This allows for the rapid and timely emergency response to any crisis at your location.

The ‘conversation’ between the REMRAD unit and the emergency response centre’s computer system is completed via radio, and not via Telkom telephone lines as this can be vulnerable to disruption. REMRAD’s system is radio-based to ensure the utmost reliability, high speed and low-cost.

The base station located at the emergency response centre communicates daily with the REMRAD system at your premises to ensure everything is working correctly. Furthermore, the SYSTEM button on REMRAD’s DTU can be manually depressed at any time to check for correct functioning.

The system is perfectly suited for corporate, industrial, and governmental premises, to provide complete peace of mind and property protection. REMRAD is designed to be flexible and more perhaps importantly, expandable, in order to meet a customers’ changing needs and requirements going forward.
