From a modest beginning in 1996, Holtan has to its credit many mile-stones built on the foundation of trust, quality and response to its client’s needs. Continuing with this philosophy, what started as a Construction company diversified into providing wooden flooring, modular kitchens, furniture and complete interior fit-outs along-with the core business of construction.

Construction
Holtan (E.A) Ltd. provides a professional, reliable and quality building and construction service. They have a wealth of experience in building world class structures for both residential and commercial clients. Projects completed include hotels, banks, office and commercial properties, new build homes and industrial buildings. They always deliver quality products and a first-class service clients on-time and on-budget, believing that building relationships based on honesty and respect is essential to working practices, both with clients and suppliers. Holtan believe in ownership and accountability from the top down. All managers and site supervisors work hands-on with the project at hand and one manager will always personally oversee a particular project, from start to finish. The management team is also closely involved in the project at all times, monitoring progress and addressing any issues with finality as and when they arise
When clients want to build something extraordinary and in keeping with the best international standards, Holtan always seems to be the name mentioned to tackle the task. The in-depth knowledge, vast experience and sheer technical expertise of the Project and Site teams allow them to take on extremely daunting builds and produce outstanding finished products that leave clients proud and visitors in awe. A fine example of this can be seen at Masaki where the AON building is situated. This building has the entire ground floor enveloped in fair faced concrete and a roof that seems to be floating.
Hotels and lodges
Having completed several prestigious and acclaimed resorts, lodges & hotels and been directly involved in over 350 keys in East Africa, one is left with no doubt whatsoever as to our unparalleled proficiency. The recently completed Mount Meru Hotel was done as a turnkey renovation and awarded the best resort in Tanzania for 2011. 3 months after re-opening. Whether it be providing a turnkey solution or only the fit out work, Holtan are the best suited to provide the kind of attention to detail and finished product you want. They have immense experience to offer practical design input as well as services in procuring all FFE & OES. Their single-source accountability allows clients the benefit of dealing with a single entity and being assured of the outcome.
Mass production
With the introduction of new machinery in 2007, Holtan are able to semi mass produce numerous types of products, including, hardwood flooring, outdoor furniture, indoor furniture, wardrobes, kitchens, doors, windows etc. This allows for a lot of work in house, especially when it comes to areas like hotels. Holtan has in recent years exported hardwood flooring and outdoor furniture to the USA, Europe & South Africa.
Holtan has always prided itself in its ability to produce whatever an Architect or Interior can conceptually create. A lot of this work is done through the specialist cabinetry and joinery section of the workhop. Whether it be a Bar or Reception Counter, 10m long board room tables, Carved Panels or Intricate hardwood ceiling designs, Holtan delivers as per the designs in a superior quality.
Moladi
Realising the need of affordable housing in Tanzania, Holtan have entered into a Joint Venture to bring in a new Building Technology called Moladi. This technology is a combination of robust plastic formwork and aerated mortar. Moladi uses normal local materials such as sand, cement and steel reinforcement to form non aggregate smooth concrete walls. Moladi is a system that speeds up the construction time frame substantially compared to standard construction due to the repetitiveness and reuse of the formwork as well as the fact that every building component is pre-designed before the actual construction of the house.
The construction process is not dependant on skilled labour, so employment is generated in each area where houses are built.
Because of the material being used, this type of housing is socially acceptable. It can be used to build one house in a day with one mould, or many houses in a day with more moulds.
