A new privately funded development is taking shape in South Florida, where construction has begun on the $280 million Sports Performance Hub (SPH) in Homestead. The large-scale project will transform more than 100 acres into a destination that combines sports, education, health, and community development.
Spanning over 100 acres secured by an 80-year lease, SPH is set to include a 10,000-seat stadium, training academies for various sports, a boarding school, a medical and mental health center, and a 100-room hotel. Once completed, this impressive complex will become the new home base for Miami FC, providing both training facilities and a venue for their home matches.
A Landmark Sports Development for South Florida
The project is anticipated to generate over 4,300 construction jobs along with 600 permanent positions upon its commencement. According to the development team, the hub will emphasize the use of local contractors and suppliers. Thereby, offering valuable opportunities for skilled trades throughout Miami-Dade County.
Apart from comprehensive supporting facilities, SPH will also include environmental initiatives and design that prioritize thecommunity, allocating 10% of theacademy scholarships to domestic students.
