Take the Construction Business Performance survey below and get to see the most recent figures
62% of the players in the construction industry feel things have improved
The construction business performance survey for the first half of 2021 by CR shows that just over 60 percent of people polled felt that business as either slightly or much better than the same period of time last year.
The improved construction business performance can be attributed to the fact that the construction industry has this year begun to adjust to what could become the new normal as opposed to last year when the industry was devastated along with the rest of the global economy by a strange and widespread viral attack that had not been seen in living memory.
With the precautions taken over the corona virus pandemic and more recently the vaccination drive the construction business performance has begun to roar back to life giving hope to millions of people who rely on it for their livelihood.
65% of the construction industry interviewed were in the housing and commercial building sector
The housing and commercial building sector remains the predominant sector in the construction industry and this is evident in the number of respondents. This also suggests the building construction sector is seeing improvement over the same period last year. This can be attributed to projects that may have stalled last year during the first wave of the virus while this time round projects are going ahead albeit with much precaution.
Most of the respondents were from Kenya and South Africa by the time of writing this report
Sri Lanka
The performance of the construction industry has faced several blows ranging from political instability, a terrorist attack, economic crisis and the corona pandemic, literally bringing the construction industry to its knees.
