More firms have shown a keen interest in being part of the construction of the Jeddah World’s Tallest Tower in Saudi Arabia. The Jeddah Tower is a building that will stand at a height of 1000 meters which will make it the world’s tallest building surpassing Burj Khalifa which stands at a height of 828 meters. Interested firms have approached Jeddah Economic Company (JEC) to be included in the construction tender and be part of the contract in completing the world’s tallest tower. A range of local and international firms have approached the developers about working on the project.

Two of the best-known International names that have are placing their interests on the tower are South Korea’s construction company Daewoo and Orascom Construction company of Egypt. Orascom is a big name in the construction market being a 50% shareholder in Belgium’s Besix Group. This is part of the joint venture between Orascom and two other construction companies that built the 828-meter Burj Khalifa tower in Dubai. The Besix Group company has shown keen interest in working on record-breaking tower projects in recent years. The construction of the Jeddah tower in Saudi Arabia meets this quest.

The Jeddah World’s Tallest Tower Will Be 172-Meters Taller Than Dubai’s Burj Khalifa

Once completed, the Jeddah tower will be 172 meters taller than Dubai’s Burj Khalifa which currently stands as the world’s tallest tower at 828 meters. The tower is the centerpiece of the Jeddah Economic City development project. The first phase of the project which includes the main tower, covers 1.5 square kilometers in area. The firms interested in the tender include companies from Europe, Sweden, Kuwait, Lebanon, China, among other firms. These firms are forming joint ventures comprising of regional, local, and international firms in their endeavour to be part of the construction project.
