The ChilcaUno thermo electric power plant in Chilca, Peru, which is managed by Engie Energa Per, has successfully had a 31 (MWh) battery energy storage system installed by NHOA Energy, a subsidiary of NHOA Group.
The battery storage system was fully supplied and installed by NHOA Energy in September 2023.

To improve the stability of the country’s electricity grid, technology has been used. NHOA is merging its experience in retrofitting thermal power stations in order to cut carbon emissions.
With the project taking off, NHOA and Engie are showing their commitment. They aim to use flexible, clean energy as a component of the country’s infrastructure.
Considering many challenges brought on by the global macro economic and geopolitical environment, NHOA Energy Americas Vice President Luca Roccia said they are really pleased. This is because they have completed such a huge project.
According to the vice president, the success shows their commitment to offering cutting edge energy storage systems. It also shows their unchanged dedication to improving clean energy solutions.
Who backed the construction of the battery energy storage system?
He added that they wanted to thank Engie. Engie offered so much support and cooperation during the whole project’s construction. The cooperation of Engie was crucial for the project’s success.
One of the biggest power generating companies in the country is Engie Energa Per. It has a total installed capacity of 2.65 GW. Also, it runs eight plants in the Lima, Moquegua, Pasco, and Ancash regions.
Eku Energy chose NHOA Energy in July 2023 to construct two new battery storage facilities in the UK with a combined capacity of 130 MWh.
The two projects, which will be built close to Loud water, Buckinghamshire, and Basildon, Essex, respectively, will make it possible for the integration of more renewable energy into the grid while offering flexibility to support the nation’s electricity system.        Â
