ADNOC’s Greenfield Seawater Plant Project awarded its development contract to Orascom Construction alongside its consortium with Metito. With a total investment of US $2.4 billion, the project’s development in the UAE, is via joint collaboration by Taqa and Abu Dhabi-based, ADNOC.

The ADNOC’s Greenfield Seawater Plant Project’s contract includes the development, ownership as well as operation of the facility. Quite impressively, the seawater treatment and water transportation project is said to replace the current high-salinity.

An official statement further reported that it will also replace the deep aquifer water systems at the fields. As a result, it will reduce water injection-related energy consumption by about 30%. Additionally, it will receive a connection link to the grid, ensuring that 100% of its power is from clean energy sources.
