Construction has begun on Somers and Hervey master planned community, covering an area of 80 hectares. The goal is to finalize the construction of 850 homes in Rasmussen over the course of the next 15 years.
Somers and Hervey master planned community is led by Urbex Townsville and is strategically located between South Beck Drive and Riverway Drive in Rasmussen, approximately 17 kilometers away from the Townsville CBD.
Urbex acquired the vast 80.27-hectare plot in 2022 and has recently started accepting registrations of interest from potential residents for the residential estate.
Urbex’s master planned communities in Townsville
Peter Sherrie, the General Manager of Urbex revealed that this would be their eighth master planned community in the Townsville area and assured that the development would include various housing options and a remarkable 16 hectares of open spaces. These green spaces will feature walking trails, parks, playgrounds, and areas dedicated to conservation.
Having actively participated in the development of the Townsville region for more than a decade, Urbex is eager to embark on this new venture known as Somers and Hervey.
According to Mr. Sherrie, the Upper Ross region in Townsville is experiencing significant growth due to the ongoing infrastructure projects in the area. These projects include the Ring Road upgrade, which will connect at Beck Drive, and the recently completed $18 million Riverway Plaza upgrade. As a result, Rasmussen has become an appealing location for both families and individuals.
Given the combination of community amenities and robust infrastructure in the area, Mr. Sherrie believes that Construction of Somers and Hervey master planned community will make a positive contribution to the thriving community. It is expected to further enhance the attractiveness of Rasmussen and reinforce its position as a strong growth corridor within Townsville.
