Egypt is making a significant investment of 12 billion pounds to strengthen the electricity distribution network in Beheira, supporting national projects across Beheira, Matrouh, and the North Coast. This commitment aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance services and meet the country’s increasing energy demands.

Enhancing Efficiency and Reliability of Egypt’s Electricity Distribution Network

In line with the President’s directives, the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, together with its affiliated companies, aims to improve the efficiency and performance of Egypt’s electricity distribution network. The primary objectives are to ensure a stable and uninterrupted power supply, maintain high-quality standards, and reduce power outages. These measures will accommodate the projected rise in energy consumption.

The Beheira Electricity Distribution Company, covering a vast geographical area that includes agricultural and desert regions, industrial sites, and parts of Alexandria Governorate, stands to benefit significantly from this substantial investment. As a crucial electricity provider in the region, the company’s distribution network spans over 177,000 km². The optimization of its medium and low-voltage network components is pivotal in ensuring a reliable power supply.

Over the years, the Beheira Electricity Distribution Company has dedicated substantial resources to investment and maintenance. Furthermore, the company has focused on network replacement, expansion, renewal, and infrastructure development in Beheira and Matrouh governorates.

Furthermore, the corporation has allocated 650 million pounds for the maintenance of medium and low-voltage networks, ensuring optimal performance and longevity. It has successfully executed projects valued at 7.25 billion pounds, contributing to the establishment and development of the region’s electricity infrastructure.

Within the company’s geographic scope, significant national and strategic projects have been successfully implemented. Notably, these initiatives include the improvement of villages in Egypt’s countryside, the construction of the New Delta Project, and the resolution of electrical network issues hindering critical roadways and infrastructure expansion. Additionally, the company has facilitated power connections for key developments such as the new Alamein Airport and Tulip El Alamein Hotels.
