Tanzania’s Heroes Grounds Construction Project is set to receive funding after President Samia Suluhu Hassan has issued a directive to the Ministry of Finance to release funds in a timely manner to enhance the construction of the new project in the government town of Mtumba in Dodoma City. According to the Head of State, the new monument must correspond to the status of the city of Dodoma as the capital city of Tanzania.

She issued a statement during this year’s first National Heroes’ Day celebrations at the site, saying the funds should be released in accordance with the architectural work plan for the project. She got to say that the Mashujaa Grounds, which is currently used to commemorate National Heroes Day, is located in the city center and as a result of the city’s growth, there is a need to expand the area.

The President, who had previously laid the foundation for the completion of the construction of the Heroes Grounds Construction Project, was satisfied with the overall design concept of the construction works to be conducted.

“I am very impressed by the design of the Heroes Grounds Construction Project. When it will be over the facility will have international restaurants, meeting rooms and other attractions to relax and enjoy, but most importantly, it will feature the tallest tower in Africa,” she said.

In addition, the Head of State has instructed the Office of the Prime Minister  to carefully oversee and monitor the construction work and all other infrastructure included in it, to ensure their timely execution and to have very adequate quality.

Meanwhile, President Samia called on all Tanzanian citizens to maintain peace, solidarity and unity in the country, stressing that no person or group of people should be allowed to bring division within the country, saying “The Republic of Tanzania is one country and will never get to see division.”
