The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has made a firm commitment to ensure the timely completion of five crucial projects within the FCT in the next eight months. During a recent inspection of these projects, he expressed his dedication to timely delivery. He also praised the quality of work being carried out by the contractors involved.

Accompanied by esteemed officials, such as the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olusade Adesola, and the Executive Secretary of FCDA, Engr. Shehu Hadi Ahmed. Chief Wike inspected these critical projects and expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing work. He particularly commended Julius Berger Nigeria Plc and other contractors for their dedication and the quality of workmanship they have exhibited.

The Five Crucial Projects To Have Timely Completion Dates.

The five projects under focus include the rehabilitation of the Federal Secretariat complex and the finalization of roads B6, and B12. Additionally, the Circle Road in the Abuja Central Area and the comprehensive development of arterial road N20. It spans from Northern Parkway to Outer Northern Expressway (ONEX) with adjoining spurs. The rehabilitation and expansion of the Outer Southern Expressway from Villa Roundabout to Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX)/Ring Road 1 junction. The junction has four interchanges. Additionally, the construction of Southern Parkway from Christian Centre (S8/9) to Ring Road 1.

Chief Wike took the opportunity to encourage the contractors to adhere to their respective project completion schedules. He acknowledged that some of the projects had encountered delays due to non-payment by the FCT Administration. However, he emphasized that following the settlement of dues, contractors had returned to the sites. He remains optimistic that these initiatives will be fully completed and commissioned for public use within the next eight months.

Chief Wike highlighted that the ongoing transformation in the FCT, with a renewed focus on providing essential infrastructure, underscores the genuine commitment to development within the Federal Capital City, dispelling any notion of mere propaganda. He encouraged FCT residents to support the contractors in a peaceful and cooperative manner to ensure the timely completion of these vital projects, while also urging all Nigerians to keep the President in their prayers.
