Governor Adeleke unveiled an ambitious plan to invest N100 billion in infrastructure for the state. This comprehensive infrastructure program encompasses 45 major road projects and the establishment of 345 healthcare centers. The construction of five flyover bridges, the provision of statewide portable water infrastructure, and an extensive street lighting network, among other crucial developments. The unveiling of this plan took place at the Excos Lounge of the Governor’s Office in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, and drew the participation of influential stakeholders from diverse sectors.

Governor Adeleke emphasized the importance of establishing a robust N100 billion infrastructure foundation across all sectors of the economy. He stated that it will be essential to catalyze growth and development in the state. He pointed out the urgent need to address the significant infrastructure deficit inherited by his administration.

Crucially, Governor Adeleke pledged that the financing of this N100 billion infrastructure plan would be entirely shouldered by the state without resorting to loans from financial institutions. He assured that he would strictly adhere to the procurement laws and due process. The local content in terms of sourcing materials and labor would be a priority to empower the local community economically.

Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his commitment to bridging these gaps through this ambitious infrastructure plan. The plan includes projects in roads, healthcare, water supply, and education, among others. Governor Adeleke’s administration dedicates itself to implementing a robust maintenance plan, ensuring the sustainability of the infrastructure investments, and bolstering the local economy. Moreover, he affirmed that 95 percent of the projects would involve local content to prevent capital flight.

The state government has already allocated funds for projects such as the rehabilitation of the Otan Ayegbaju Iresi Road and Ede-Egbedi to Erin Osun Road. Additionally, water projects in all 332 wards of the state are underway. They are conducting geophysical surveys across political wards, and they are drilling boreholes in selected areas of each ward. This is accompanied by the installation and supply of head tanks. All under the N100 billion invested in infrastructure

In the realm of healthcare, the Imole Medical and Surgical outreach will be held quarterly across six state hospitals. They will be under the supervision of the Osun State Ministry of Health. Governor Adeleke, known for his aversion to extravagant projects, also places a significant emphasis on education.

Furthermore, the government plans to dualize projects to improve the transportation infrastructure of Osogbo and Ilesha. The construction of flyovers, underground tunnels, and other interventions aims to enhance the state’s connectivity.

These measures extend to various parts of the state, including the Osun River, Ede, and Erinle Rivers in Ede. Governor Adeleke’s commitment to infrastructure development promises to bring about positive changes and economic growth for the people of Osun State.
