The Katsina State Government is gearing up to initiate a fresh wave of development, with plans to roll out over 100 projects in the upcoming month of November. This significant announcement was made by Professor Badamasi Lawal Charanchi, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. He shared this information during a press briefing following the comprehensive inspection of ongoing projects spanning the Local Government Areas (LGAs) within the state.

The inspection revealed that the state’s three Senatorial Zones had already assessed more than 100 projects across the LGAs. Additionally, the Commissioner confirmed that Governor Malam is ready to approve another phase of projects for the LGAs in November. The government expects these upcoming projects to surpass the initial budget of N1.8 million approved for the earlier phase.

The Range Of Projects Included In The Proposed 100 Projects In Katsina State.

The diverse range of projects inspected includes road construction, mosque building and drainage systems. Additionally, slaughterhouses, Islamiyya Schools, the provision of clean drinking water, and the rehabilitation of Primary Healthcare Clinics. Also included is the construction of secondary and primary schools. Other projects encompass the repair of electric transformers, the installation of electric poles, the introduction of Solar Powered Street Lights, the enhancement of high and low-tension electricity connections, and the provision of office accommodations for the NSCDC, among other beneficial endeavors.

Professor Charanchi commended the satisfactory progress of the projects conducted and inspected so far. He also praised the dedication of the local Council’s Chairmen while urging them to exercise prudence in the implementation of future projects. The inspection results show that only three LGAs require major and minor corrections in the execution of their projects.

These projects are not only fulfilling the state Governor’s campaign promises but also addressing the specific needs of communities within their respective areas. In addition to discussing the ongoing development initiatives, the Commissioner emphasized Governor Dikko Radda’s unwavering commitment to improving security, distributing essential relief measures, recruiting educators, and addressing other aspects that impact the lives of the state’s residents.
