With regard to the people who will be affected by the project, the governor said that census is already done. The government will thus proceed to the payment of the allowances once the start of the works take place.

According to Dr. El Hadj Lèye Guèye, the project manager, the widening and development of the road will cause traffic disruptions. However, the doctor called for patience and assured that solutions for the disruptions are being put in place. These solutions include the recruitment of personnel to support the police in the orientation of drivers in deviations.

All the parties involved are asked to play their part so as to make the project to widen and develop the old Port of Dakar-Ruffisque Road a success. Upon completion, the new road will facilitate access to the Autonomous Port of Dakar and to the city center of the capital. Additionally, it put an end to traffic jams which constitute a real headache for road users.
