Turkey high speed train project is set to be completed by the Turkish government trough the responsible directorate managing infrastructure. The high speed train to be used is going to have an engine that is set with 8 wagons that will be transporting passengers by the year 2025. This was recently pointed out by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

The International Railway and other institutions did welcome their respective visitors at an fair which occurred at the Istanbul Expo Centre, happened to get to bring together over 200 exhibitors and thousands of visitors who were from Turkey and other countries. The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure and the general manager of State Railways were also among the people who attended the opening ceremony of the affair at the expo.

During the affair the minister stated that between the year 2003 and 2023, a lot of serious and thorough works of investment, improvement, renovation and development were executed in the railways of the country and around a total of 880 billion Turkish Liras were used as an investment of the railways in the previous 21 years.

The Turkey High Speed Train Project Goals

The minister also pointed out that having their 2053 Transport and Logistics masterplan, they have an objective of increasing the total number of provinces that will be receiving the Turkey high speed train services to 52. He also pointed out that they were going to increase the total length of their railway line to 28,590 kilometers. Indicating that they are putting first the national aspects of the project, Minister Uraloğlu stated that they have built a national railway industry in the previous 21 years that is indeed serious.

Lastly, the minister added that their national high speed train studies that have an operating speed of up to 225km/h were still in progress. Furthermore, he stated that they had covered up to 90% of the project and had presented the work to the final stage of design. They would also start the assembly of the very first prototype at the beginning of the year 2024. The minister said that they were hopeful with an aim of bringing this train to transporting passengers in the year 2025.
