The main contractor for Manchester’s long-proposed £125m Vision residential development, DOMIS Construction, has been appointed. The 37-storey tower will feature 327 apartments, including one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, and amenities such as a gym, yoga, spin studio, and cinema.
Paul Rothwell, director of Vision Manchester, expressed confidence in DOMIS Construction’s impressive track record and their ability to deliver the development. Despite the current market conditions, he believes that DOMIS is the right partner for the project and looks forward to a successful partnership.
The Vision project is not connected to Empire Property Concepts, which is in administration. When Rothwell acquired the site, Russell WBHO was initially chosen as the main contractor, but an agreement was never reached between the parties.

Development of the 37-Storey Vision Scheme in Manchester
Paul Strutt, director at DOMIS, expressed delight in being part of the project, emphasizing the unique nature of the residential tower. The construction is set to begin in the coming weeks with a four-month program of enabling works, prioritizing quality, delivery, and budget.
The project team for Vision residential development in Manchester includes architect Jon Matthews, who has been involved since the project’s inception in 2015. Brigantes obtained planning consent for the scheme, and although Inhabit Residential was initially reported to be leading the project, the construction never commenced.
EGCC Group and Featherfoot Whitworth Street, later renamed Vision Manchester, bought the site in 2021 for £8.75m and secured nearly £80m funding for the development. Alliance Investments is responsible for marketing the apartments for sale.
