Elm Ridge Church Café is going to be set up in Darlington church after the plans were submitted to the Darlington Borough Council for the setting up of the project. The Elm Ridge Methodist Church Cafe is going to have a terraced area and it will also be incorporated with a ramp that will have stepped access. There would also be walk way that is refurbished and canopied that is going to consist of a slated roof that will be dual pitched and the toilet building would be installed a new roofing aperture. This building works will also be done for the retained accessible toilet at the church premises.

The extension of Elm Ridge Methodist Church Cafe is going to be of one storey located at corner which is southeast of the main building of the church. All including the new toilet that is going to be renovated and refurbished. There would also be a better construction of the foyer at the entrance of the Elm Ridge Methodist church so that it would give a much more warm and visible welcome at the rear entry that was secluded to the end of the Elm Ridge Methodist Church building. The Croft room is going to be changed into a full functional catering kitchen that would be standard and it is going have separate serving spots for coffee and tea snacks.

The addition of the Elm Ridge Methodist Church Café was first set up in the year 1990. The setting up was majorly done in order to increase the interaction and socializing and socialist opportunities among the users of the church premises. This would eventually help in developing and bringing up the surrounding society to have a greater sense and understanding in community living.
