Lookers Nissan Dealership Store is to cost than £3million in a groundbreaking showroom on Portland Road in Newcastle, due to open next spring.
Lookers, one of the UK’s leading car and services groups, opened its doors to a new £1million Nissan dealership store in Gateshead earlier this year, following similar refurbishments in Chester and Carlisle in 2022.
Newcastle City Council announced plans for a new £ 3.25 million Nissan showroom on Portland Road, complementing the existing 30-year facility with a new showroom, spacious workshops and improved customer facilities, more car parking and additional charging points for open light electric vehicles. The final facelift of the project is expected to be officially unveiled to customers in Spring 2024, however the dealership will remain open throughout the build period and all normal services will remain on site.

Seven new Nissan models will be on display in the new Lookers Nissan Dealership Store showroom, including the new all-electric Nissan ARIYA, with modern design and powerful electric mobility, and the UK-built Qashqai, which was officially the UK’s most popular motor manufacturer and dealer last year, according to the Society . The new showroom in the Shieldfield area of Newcastle represents a major local development and will be of a similar size to the existing showroom at 2,578m² on a 5,446m² site and will house 65 staff including three new hires.
