Construction will soon commence on an A&M Law and Education Building at the Texas A&M University-Fort Worth campus. Recently the University’s Board of Regents allocated the $150 million needed to construct the 8-story building in downtown Fort Worth. It will be the first of three facilities to be built as part of a new research campus. 

Funding for the new  A&M Law and Education Building and the other two facilities will also come from other sources. The city of Fort Worth, Tarrant County and the private sector will join the University to finance the entire project. The A&M University officials expect construction work on the campus to be completed by 2027.

Development plans for the A&M Law and Education Building

The A&M Law and Education Building will anchor the new research campus which will be built across four city blocks. The 8-story facility will serve as home to Texas A&M University’s School of Law. Additionally, the building will also accommodate engineering, health care, and nursing courses. Provision will also be made for other subjects offered by Texas A&M Health and Tarleton State University.

Besides the  Law and Education Building, the new campus will also include a Research and Innovation Building and  Gateway Building. The Research and Innovation Building will serve as a collaboration space for the private sector, employers and  A&M System agencies. While the Gateway Building will include amenities such as offices,  classroom and meeting spaces, and a conference centre.

A&M officials have revealed that construction on the new Law and Education Building will commence next month. Consequently some final decisions on building designs as the brick color will have to be made in the coming weeks.

The architect of record for the project will be Stantec. While architect Pelli Clarke & Partners will assist with designing with labs. The construction management team handling the project include Turner Construction Company, CARCON Industries, Source Building Group Inc. and Dikita Enterprises.
