Construction has begun on the 290-unit mixed-use multifamily development called The Beck, which is expected to open in the spring of 2025 in Massachusetts. The Procopio Companies, the project’s developer, disclosed that foundation construction is ongoing and steel erection is anticipated for late summer.
The Beck development, according to Procopio officials, is in line with Haverhill’s sustainability objectives. It makes use of locally produced materials, energy-saving technology, less water use, as well as the potential for multi-modal transportation. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) credentialed experts support the project. The developers aim to receive a LEED Silver certification.
In addition, a new 1.4-acre public waterfront park called “First Nations Park” will be built. It will have an amphitheatre, playground, splash pad, and a 1,700-foot-long riverwalk presented to the city.

The city will utilize a $1.95 million MassWorks grant. This will make road and traffic signal modifications where South Elm Street, Laurel Avenue, and Railroad Avenue intersect at the southern end of the Comeau Bridge.

Additionally, it will provide further safety precautions for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians. Furthermore, underground utility relocation is part of the project along Railroad Avenue.
According to Bryan Vitale, vice president of strategy & investments at the Procopio Companies, “Our goal with The Beck was to bring a hospitality-focused property to Haverhill, developing a transit-oriented property that provides all the advantages of a downtown location, waterfront views, and luxury amenities.
Additionally, these resident perks are combined with shopping and a public waterfront park for the greater Haverhill neighbourhood. We are eager to watch this waterfront project come to life as we work with our newest partners to complete development.”
