Precoat Metals’ production expansion will meet rising demand for coated aluminium coils slit to custom widths. Furthermore, it will supplement the company’s current capabilities for customised steel, aluminium, and galvanised metal coils. These are used in containers, buildings, housing, automobiles, product storage, appliances, HVAC, and other applications. Precoat, located at 901 Waterman Drive in Washington, is the first tenant to open in the new 115-acre Oldenburg Industrial Park. When manufacturing begins in 2025, the factory will employ roughly 88 people.

The pre-engineered structure will include a 212,000-square-foot manufacturing zone as well as an 8,000-square-foot office area. Three 30-ton overhead cranes and modern equipment for preparing, coating, slitting, and packing aluminium coils will service the manufacturing zone.
There will be eight loading dock bays and six drive-through bays in the facility. Vision Electric, Jarrell Mechanical Contractors, O.J. Laughlin Plumbing Company, Inc., and Musselman & Hall Contractors will work alongside Contegra on the project.
Contegra earlier developed a 53,000-square-foot addition at PreCoat’s MMC Granite City manufacturing facility, increasing the operation’s processing and storage area to 143,000 square feet.
