A new Homewood Suites by Hilton, a four-story hotel has been approved near I-96 in Walker, Michigan. The hotel will be located at 2365 Northridge Drive NW, which is the northeastern corner of Walker Avenue and Northridge Drive.
The Walker Planning Commission gave its approval to the hotel’s plans on July 5. The 20,877-square-foot building, according to planning records, will house 103 guest rooms for the new hotel. An 11-acre tract of land will be used for the hotel’s construction. A stormwater drainage basin will be developed on the southern half of the property.

Bhogi Patel of Grand Michigan Lodging LLC and RDG Walker LLC, a division of Grand Rapids-based Rockford Construction, are the project’s developers. According to Patel, the Homewood Suites by Hilton is an “upper-tier extended stay” hotel. Along with meeting spaces, the hotel will offer an indoor pool and fitness centres.

Homewood Suites by Hilton in Walker, Michigan will havevarying units; the studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom suites. Homewood Suites hotels provide kitchenettes with stovetops, refrigerators, and dishwashers. Pets are allowed, and there is a complimentary cooked breakfast for hotel guests. Although Patel said he is unsure of the final price tag for the new Walker hotel, he anticipates being ready to start ground there in September. The building’s construction will last 16 to 18 months. The hotel will probably open in the first quarter of 2025.
Patel also owns the Home2Suites hotel in Walker and the Avid Hotel, a four-story hotel in Zeeland. He claimed that in order to capitalise on the popularity of his current Home2Suites hotel, the location of the new Homewood Suites hotel was selected. The hotel site will also include landscaping, sidewalks, and a 100-space paved parking lot, according to planning records. On the land, there will also be a retaining wall made of modular blocks.
