After almost two years of construction, the new Godfrey Hotel in Detroit, Michigan, is getting ready to welcome its first guests this August. The hotel is located in the center of Corktown, Detroit, less than a mile away from the beautiful Detroit Riverwalk. It cost more than $75 million to build and has seven floors with 227 rooms. The developers, Hunter Pasteur Homes and Oxford Capital Group, recently showed people around the site during a tour.
In addition to the comfortable rooms, the hotel has four conference rooms, two bars, a gym, and a restaurant. The hotel has already scheduled weddings because it provides a modern and lovely setting in downtown Detroit with many different places to hold events. Workers are currently busy preparing the site so that they can get a certificate to show that the building is safe and ready for guests. The rooms in new Godfrey Hotel in Detroit, Michigan hotel range from 318 to 490 square feet in size, and it will cost around $275 per night to stay there.

The hotel also has a big ballroom for conferences and events that covers an area of 5,100 square feet. One of the bars, called the IO Lounge, has a roof that can open up to let in light and fresh air. The general manager, Aaron Black, says that many women who are planning weddings prefer to have a well-lit area. There is a high demand for more hotels in downtown Detroit and the surrounding area, and that’s why The Godfrey is opening soon. Black believes that having more hotels will change the market and attract bigger events to the city.
There will also be a restaurant called The Hamilton on the ground floor of the new Godfrey Hotel in Detroit, Michigan hotel. It will open later this year and serve classic American dishes. The restaurant has been designed by a well-known local restaurateur named Samy Eid. Diners at The Hamilton will have a clear view of the newly rebuilt Michigan Avenue, which has bricks on the ground. The avenue is part of the Detroit Mobility and Innovation Corridor. The hotel is also close to the Michigan Central Station, which belongs to the Ford Motor Company.
