Gavin Newsom, California’s Governor, recently signed Project 427, aimed at expediting the construction of the Otay II Port of Entry. This project, when inaugurated, is expected to cut waiting times by half.
The reduction in time will be made possible after the Otay ll Port of Entry is activated. This is good news for commuters.

On a good day, it is said that the average time taken to cross the border from Tijuana to San Diego during the morning is usually 2 hours and 30 minutes.

It is said that the Chamber of Commerce sent letters urging them to start operating at full capacity. It was done in an effort to help the ports of entry recover from these losses.
There are currently no clear completion dates for the project. Assembly member David Alvarez believes that the time needed to wait for the project to be completed is expected to reduce.
