Saint Gobain, a subsidiary of CertainTeed Roofing specializing in building products recently celebrated the commencement of construction, for a cutting edge roofing manufacturing and distribution center in Bryan, Texas. The groundbreaking ceremony took place at the location of the facility and featured speeches by individuals such as Larry McManus, the Director of Texas Business and Community Development; Carmen Bodden, the Vice President and General Manager of CertainTeed Roofing; Bobby Gutierrez, the Mayor of Bryan; Duane Peters, the Brazos County Judge; and Jill Betters, the Director of Strategy and Business Development at CertainTeed Roofing.

Mark Rayfield, President and CEO of Saint Gobain North America and CertainTeed expressed the importance of investing in talent for the manufacturing industry. Furthermore he emphasized their commitment to establishing a long term partnership with Bryan ISD Technical Education Center.

Governor Greg Abbott commended CertainTeed for its dedication to expanding in Texas highlighting the states role as a leader, in manufacturing. The establishment in Bryan marks CertainTeeds addition to its plant portfolio since 2016 and aligns, with Saint Gobains worldwide growth strategy.

Support for the new Roofing Manufacturing and Distribution Center in Bryan

This new roofing manufacturing and distribution center project in Bryan has received support through contributions such as land donations, a rail easement without cost backed industrial infrastructure assistance, well as property tax savings for ten years through the Chapter 313 program. These initiatives will enable Saint Gobain to expand its presence and range of products in Texas and, across United States.

By locating the new manufacturing facility and distribution center the company can reduce the distance the product needs to travel to reach the market. This not helps decrease the companys carbon footprint but aligns with Saint Gobains worldwide objective of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
