According to OttOmate, site preparation is ongoing for the first Tesla combo dining and charging station, located at 7001 W. Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood, on the former site of a Shakey’s restaurant. The new structure would be flanked by a 30-car surface parking lot, each with a charging station.

Stantec is designing the restaurant, which is depicted in a drawing as a futuristic two-story tower with rooftop outdoor dining. The picture also depicts counter-style seating on the building’s outside.

The new cafe is said to be a prototype for a new sort of luxurious Tesla charging station. If successful would be carried out in other cities throughout the country. Tesla has the most extensive Supercharger Network of any carmaker in the world. While charging speeds are increasing and the demand for entertainment is decreasing, there is still a need for unique experiences at these charging stations.

Where the Tesla Diner will be located

The facility will be located just west of Orange Drive, across from a new Onni Group property that will include residences and a Level extended-stay hotel. Further, the initial grading inspection was conducted and certified on August 9. This gave Tesla the green light to proceed with the project.

According to CEO Elon Musk, the location would feature 32 Supercharger stalls, a restaurant with a variety of food items, rooftop seats, and, of course, two movie theatre screens where excerpts from great movies will be screened.
