A $300 Million Resort and Casino Complex in Subic Bay Freeport will launch its first phase by early 2026. The development is an integrated resort and casino complex and is under French hospitality giant, ACCOR International Group.

Overview of the Resort and Casino Complex in Subic

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Subic Sun Convention Resort and Casino was held in Subic Bay Freeport earlier this year. The development is an ambitious $300 million complex located in Subic Bay Freeport. The massive development will significantly impact the local tourism industry of Subic.

The Subic Sun Convention Resort and Casino will be built on a 6-hectare property of 5-star resorts and casinos. This makes up an integrated resort and casino complex in Subic.

The initial phase of the development involves the construction of Ibis Styles, an economy hotel, and Mercure Hotels, a French midscale hotel brand. ACCOR International Group owns both international brands.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman and Administrator of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Eduardo Jose L. Aliño stated the significance of the development complex. “ACCOR International Group, Ibis Styles, and Mercure Hotels will help pave the way for a world-class leisure and convention center in Subic.”

To begin operations by Late-2025

Global hospitality giant ACCOR International Group will construct the $300 million resort casino complex.

President and Chairman of Sun Convention Resort and Casino, Inc. Pablo Edgardo Puyat stated that operations on the first phase are expected to start as late as Q1 2026. According to Puyat, Ibis Styles Subic is set to open in 2026 and will be the first international brand hotel in Subic. The hotel will have 175 rooms, and amenities such as a swimming pool, lounge, and gym.

Meanwhile, Mercure Subic, also set for operations by 2026, will have 250 rooms and will launch after Ibis Styles Subic. The two projects will be located adjacent to each other.

The resort and casino complex will also include an exhibition hall, a convention center, the New Dragon Restaurant, an American Country Club, clubhouses, a hotel and recreation area, car parks, dormitories, and duty-free shops. The complex will feature a variety of facilities to offer deluxe services and attract more visitors.

On the other hand, the launch date of the casino and game tables and other details were not specified.

Subic is located in Central Luzon and is 170 kilometers from the National Capital Region (NCR) Manila. Its proximity makes it an ideal location for tourists hailing from the capital city.
