The DC BLOX Douglasville Data Center Project is a planned data center campus in Douglas County, Georgia. The company has secured approximately $1.15 billion in green loan financing to support construction and related development activities.

The financing will be applied toward the development of a 120MW data center facility. The project plan also includes future campus expansion to accommodate an additional 80MW of capacity, with this phase projected to become available as early as 2027. The facility is intended to support cloud and artificial intelligence-related computing workloads.

Other than the DC Blox Douglasville data center project, another project taking shape in Columbus is Project Ruby data center campus.

Implementation of the $5bn Project Ruby data center campus is taking shape in fine style in Columbus, Georgia. Economic development group Choose Columbus recently announced that the Development Authority of Columbus has been negotiating with Habitat Partners. The main aim of negotiations is to secure a site for a data center development.

The data center campus, Project Ruby, is expected to be $5billion+. Moreover, it will located in Muscogee County and will be built out between 2027 and 2030 according to the announcement. “This project represents one of the largest technology investments in our region’s history,” said Selvin Hollingsworth, chairman of the Development Authority of Columbus, Georgia.

He also added that the project’s “… economic and fiscal impacts will expand opportunity, enhance our tax base, and position Columbus as a competitive hub for future data-driven industries.”

Other DC BLOX Data Centres

The data centre campus project comes on the heels of recently announced DC BLOX projects. These projects include several hyperscale edge nodes across the Southeast. Additionally, with additional hyperscale-ready data center capacity available in Conyers, Georgia and Douglasville, Georgia, DC BLOX is set to rapidly expand its presence around Atlanta.

“With this latest project announcement, DC BLOX upholds its mission to build the foundational digital infrastructure needed to drive the Southeast’s growing economy,” said Jeff Uphues, CEO of DC BLOX. “Atlanta is the fastest-growing data center market in the US today, and we are proud to enable our customers to expand their footprint in our region.”

Lastly, this financing comes in after the $265 million green loan that was secured from leading industry lenders, as well as the growth equity that was committed by Post Road Group in the fourth quarter of 2024. Therfore, DC BLOX is now well positioned to meet the capacity of the rapidly increasing digital infrastructure demand. This demand is usually fueled by hyperscaler expansion.
