Eos Energy Enterprises plans to invest nearly $353 million to relocate its corporate headquarters from New Jersey to Pittsburgh and expand its zinc-based battery manufacturing operations in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The project will create 735 new jobs and retain 265 existing positions, supported by a $22 million investment from the Commonwealth.

In its ambitious expansion, Eos is set to lease a sprawling 432,000-square-foot facility in Marshall Township, where new automated production lines will come to life. This site will build upon the advancements achieved in Turtle Creek, where Eos introduced its inaugural advanced production line in 2024. Together, these facilities will enhance the production of the company’s innovative aqueous zinc battery systems, crafted to facilitate long-duration energy storage and bolster domestic clean energy supply chains.

Eos Energy NEW HQ

In addition to its manufacturing expansion, when its global headquarters relocates to a 40,000-square-foot office at Nova Place on Pittsburgh’s North Shore later in 2026, it will house teams responsible for administering Eos’s proprietary software and battery management system, DawnOS™, as well as engineering and corporate operations.

Eos also aims to deepen its partnership with Carnegie Mellon University and other regional organizations with hopes to develop talent in robotics, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing. This program highlights Western Pennsylvania’s emerging leadership in clean energy technology.

Founded in 2008, Eos Energy manufactures American-made zinc-based battery systems used by utilities and industrial customers for grid-scale energy storage. The company’s products are designed with more than 90% domestic content, supporting U.S. manufacturing and supply chain resilience.

This project is also among the largest single private investments in clean energy manufacturing in the region this year that puts Pittsburgh on track as a new hub of advanced energy storage innovation.

Eos Energy’s battery systems are becoming increasingly vital as the nation’s demand for power surges—driven in part by the rapid growth of energy-intensive data centers. Across the United States, developers are responding by pairing renewable generation with large-scale storage to ensure a stable and flexible grid. In Arizona, for example, Recurrent Energy recently reached financial close on a hybrid project combining solar generation with battery storage. Underscoring how integrated clean energy solutions are becoming the new standard for meeting America’s rising electricity needs.
