The Temple Data Center Project is a data center development undertaken by Meta Platforms in Temple, Texas. Construction activities were scheduled to begin in Spring 2022 at a 400-acre site located within an industrial park at NW H.K. Dodgen Loop and Industrial Park Boulevard. The project site is situated within a regional employment area that supports a range of industrial and commercial activities. In 2026, the project is still under development.

The 380+ acre campus, currently under construction by JE Dunn Construction, aligns with Meta’s sustainability goals using 100% renewable energy and water-efficient cooling.

Rosendin was selected as the electrical contractor for the project, working alongside general contractor JE Dunn to deliver the facility and associated site infrastructure. The development carries an estimated value of approximately $800 million and is located about 50 miles north of the Austin metropolitan area.

The data center was planned to span approximately 900,000 square feet and was designed to incorporate energy-efficient systems. The facility was also planned to be supported by renewable energy sources, including solar power, and to target LEED Gold certification, with additional considerations for water resource management.

Other Projects

Other that the Temple data center project by Meta in Texas, Microsoft is also advancing the construction of two SAT data center campuses in the region.

Each project will see the tech giant investing $26 million as the company plans to commence construction on the data centers. Microsoft SAT93 and Microsoft SAT94 will commence on March and April 2027 respectively. The firm previously filed for two projects under the same name and at the same address in Medina in February 2025.

However, those projects suggested an investment of $350m each. Moreover, construction of those projects was set to begin in mid-2025 and be completed by mid-2027. According to latest filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and regulation (TDLR), SAT93 will be a one story building.
