Marriott International has unveiled plans to expand its luxury footprint in Calgary through a landmark partnership with local developers Truman and Louson. Together, the trio will bring three high-end hotel brands; W Calgary, JW Marriott Calgary, and an Autograph Collection hotel, to life in the city’s growing Culture + Entertainment District. Set to open between 2028 and 2030, these properties are poised to reshape Calgary’s skyline and hospitality scene.

A Bold Investment in Calgary’s Future

The $1.47 billion private investment will deliver more than 700 hotel rooms and nearly 360 branded residences. Beyond aesthetics, the development is expected to create over 9,100 construction jobs and 2,000 permanent roles, fueling economic growth and boosting tourism. “This isn’t just a project, it’s a statement of confidence in Calgary,” said Tony Trutina, COO of Truman. “We’re building for locals and travelers alike, creating a destination that mirrors Calgary’s energy and ambition.”

Elevated Living and Unmatched Amenities

Each hotel will offer a unique experience tailored to modern travelers. W Calgary will soar 69 storeys and feature 157 hotel rooms, 239 luxury residences, a rooftop bar, and a full wellness floor. The JW Marriott Calgary will stand 62 storeys tall with 248 rooms and 120 residences, including spa amenities and event spaces. Meanwhile, the Autograph Collection at Stampede Park will bring 320 guest rooms and 15,000 square feet of flexible event space, complete with rooftop lounges and upscale dining.

Redefining Calgary’s Urban Appeal
