SIMCOM Aviation Training recently broke ground on its new Simcom Aviation HQ in Redwood City, Orlando. This 90,000-square-foot flight training center and global headquarters will be developed on Nemours Parkway in the heart of Orlando’s Lake Nona master-planned community.

Construction of the Simcom Aviation HQ is estimated at $109 million and the new campus will be equipped with about 12 full-flight simulators, offering realistic flight experiences to match the most capable and sophisticated aircrafts in the aviation market, which include the Bombardier Challenger 350, Gulfstream G650, and the Embraer Phenom and Praetor aircrafts.

Simcom Aviation HQ project brings 100 new jobs to Orlando

California-based DPR Construction Inc has been hired as the general contractor to handle construction work on the new Simcom Aviation HQ project, which is scheduled to open by early 2023; and once completed, this new headquarters in  Lake Nona Town Center will create upto 100 new jobs in the area that offer an average annual salary of $55,000; this is higher than the average annual salary in metro Orlando currently set at $48,530 per annum.

Eric Hinson, the President and CEO of SIMCOM gave more insights about the  new Simcom Aviation HQ, at the ground breaking event in Lake Nona Town Center. Hinson pointed out that the campus is designed to provide uniquely enhanced training experiences that cannot be found at any other training center in the world; and this would bring approximately 10,000 pilots into the area each year, for both initial and recurrent training types. He also mentioned that the location in Lake Nona’s downtown area was quite desirable, as it’s within walking distance of premium hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer was also present at the ground breaking ceremony for the new Simcom Aviation HQ. The Mayor spoke in favor of the project and talked about how the new investment showcases Orlando’s growing reputation, as a thriving modeling and simulation hub for  aviation industries. Dyer also pointed out that the new training facility would attract people to Orlando from all over the world, seeking pilot and aircraft maintenance training; which would have a huge impact on the economy of the community and local businesses in the area; thereby, giving visitors the opportunity to experience the world-class hospitality which Orlando is known for.
