An agreement has been signed for the development of “The Maersk Integrated Logistics Centre DWC facility in Dubai South Logistics District”.
The agreement was signed by the global integrated logistics company, Maersk UAE and Dubai South. The latter is one of the largest single-urban master development that focuses on reals estate, aviation as well as logistics. The Managing Director at Maersk UAE, Christopher Cook, and the CEO of Dubai South, Mohsen Ahmad, signed the agreements on behalf of their respective companies.
An overview of the Maersk Integrated Logistics Centre DWC facility in Dubai
The Maersk Integrated Logistics Centre DWC facility will span a total area of 162,000 square feet. It will include new warehousing as well as a distribution (W&D) facility with a total capacity of catering to 15,000 pallet positions. Additionally, it will serve approximately 10,000 bin locations.

The project is fully focused on meeting the logistics requirements and needs of consumers. Moreover, it aims to create a seamless logistics solution for all. Noteworthy, inbound logistics and distribution as well as ocean shipping are common ground for several stakeholders within the Middle East. As a result, creating several complex logistical requirements.Â
Additionally, the project will significantly contribute to Maersk’s total footprint within the UAE.
Aim for the project
Christopher Cook commented on the project. He said that its location is strategically in Dubai for its connection to the Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC). Not forgetting the location’s proximity to the hub of Jabal Ali as well as the mainline port. This strategic advantage, he noted, will enable the further development of air-sea hub operations.
On the other hand, Mohsen Ahmad expressed excitement over the project’s agreement signing. He further stated that the project aims to attract top international players to the Logistics District. Moreover, the CEO of Dubai South noted that the project is also focusing on boosting the sector as well as diversifying Dubai’s economy.
